While a conversation that turn crucial is one part of the problem, most often we avoid bringing up many crucial conversations by falling prey to the choice between two alternatives with the assumption that we have to trade one thing for another (sucker’s choice). We are at our worst when things matter the most. Chances are that many people do not deal with them well or at all we either resort to violence (displaying negative emotions) or silence (staying quite).
